April 9 – Shadow Puppets
Based on the theory of the “shadow self”, the hidden parts or version of ourselves we hide away, you are invited to create a puppet and give form to this repressed self. Creating an artwork that will be able to be “puppeted”, this will give space to explore this part of yourself you may not usually connect with and give space for a potential conversation. After a quick introduction, artmaking will commence for about half the session and then the second half will allow for space for the puppet to gain movement or a voice. This will also give time to share with the group how it felt to create and connect with this hidden self. All materials will be provided and you are welcome to take home your artwork at the end of session.
